In the middle if all the discordant noises and temptations of the day I can hear thee calling to me.

I stumble as I fare along Earth’s way; keep me from falling.

Mine eyes are open but they cannot see for gloom in the darkness.

I lift my eyes and heart to thee for inward light. The wild and fiery passion of my love for you, consumes my soul.

Yet I know I am not worthy, just another miserable sinner, saved by You. In agony I turn to thee for truth and self-control.

For passion and all the pleasures of the flesh, I know will bring me certain death, but I declare I choose life in you Christ.

Yet in the discordant noises of the world I hear you calling.

Lord I may stumble as I travel along Earth’s way today, but please keep me from falling.
